The Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (ISCA) will introduce a new AI training initiative for the accounting sector, supported by S$1m ($77,000) from its AI for Accountancy Industry fund.
The programme is aimed at increasing AI competence among the nation’s 120,000 accounting professionals.

Experience unmatched clarity with a single platform that combines unique data, AI, and human expertise.
Developed in partnership with the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA), the upcoming AI Fluency Programme is intended for professionals in fields such as accounting and finance who do not have a technology background.
ISCA states that the training will focus on helping these individuals apply AI in their daily work, with an emphasis on transforming business processes and prioritising tasks requiring human judgement.
This programme is set to be launched in 2026 and forms part of a larger effort under ISCA’s AI for AI framework.
The framework is structured around three central themes: learning about AI, ensuring proper governance of AI, and applying AI in a professional context.

By GlobalDataThe initiative seeks to assist ISCA’s 43,000 members, as well as the wider sector, in understanding and using AI responsibly.
The AI Fluency Programme will be delivered online and structured into short modules. More than half of the content will relate directly to practical tasks in accounting, audit, and finance.
According to ISCA, participation will be free for all accountants in Singapore as part of its investment in the sector’s development.
Upon completion, participants will earn Continuing Professional Education credits and an ISCA digital badge indicating their proficiency in AI.
ISCA president Teo Ser Luck said: “Through our partnership with IMDA on the AI Fluency Programme, ISCA aims to empower accounting and corporate finance professionals in Singapore with the skills and confidence to use AI meaningfully. By equipping them to learn, govern and apply AI responsibly, we are preparing the profession to thrive in an era where human judgement and digital intelligence work hand in hand.”
Additionally, ISCA has collaborated with Nanyang Technological University (NTU) to produce the Responsible Artificial Intelligence Framework in Accountancy.
The framework outlines standards for ethical and transparent use of AI within the profession.
To support practical application, ISCA also plans to establish an AI Nexus—a hub for sharing knowledge and resources.
This centre will provide opportunities for members to test AI solutions in workplace scenarios and collaborate with technology providers, educators, and peers on developing new applications within the field.
