According to a press release published on Zawya, the new partners are Ahmed Afify, audit partner; Ahmad Chit, forensics partner; Chris Quinn, audit partner; Hani Zeidan, audit partner; Haris Saigal, audit partner; Rajeev Patel, financial due diligence partner; and Sameer Abdi, partner and head of advisory.
The company also appointed Anand Balasubramanian as partner and head of risk & compliance advisory; Veronica Fox as people partner; and Richard Hills as partner, head of risk innovation & digital forensics.
The practice strengthened leadership through a combination of internal development and external hires. Two of the partner appointments, Ahmed Afify and Haris Saigal, were promotions from within the company.
Grant Thornton UAE CEO Hisham Farouk said: “These appointments recognise people who have earned the confidence of clients and colleagues through the quality of their work and the way they lead.
“Each partner brings a clear understanding of the market, strong professional judgement and a responsibility that extends beyond individual engagements. That responsibility matters, both to our clients and to the wider business community.”
Grant Thornton UAE said the partnership expansion comes as organisations in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) face increased regulatory complexity, heightened scrutiny, and the growing role of technology in business and transaction models.
Grant Thornton Advisors CEO Jim Peko said: “The UAE is not only an important market for us – it is a driving force within our 24,000-strong platform. The leadership emerging here, grounded in deep local insight and matched with our multinational ambition, reflects the strength of our platform and the exceptional people who power it.
“The UAE plays a pivotal role in delivering the seamless cross-border experience our clients expect, and it continues to set the pace for what excellence looks like across Grant Thornton.”
Grant Thornton UAE provides audit and assurance, tax and advisory services across multiple industries in the country. Since April 2025, it has been part of a multinational platform established by Grant Thornton Advisors in the US.
Separately, earlier this month, Grant Thornton UK named David Gartside as its new chief digital officer, effective 1 April.
