Houston said: “I’m delighted that Darren will be our next UK CEO.
“His experience as a leader, both in the UK and across North and South Europe, gives me every confidence that the UK firm will continue to lead in the market.
“I’m looking forward to working with him and seeing the impact of the UK firm in Deloitte EMEA in the years ahead.”
Graves joined Deloitte’s Business Tax practice as a graduate in 2001.
He later moved into M&A Tax and became a partner in 2012. He has previously headed Deloitte’s Transactions Tax team in the UK and sat on the UK Tax and Legal executive.
In 2022, he became managing partner for Tax & Legal for Deloitte North and South Europe (NSE), while also serving as both the NSE executive and the Global Tax & Legal executive.
Graves commented: “I am incredibly proud to become CEO of Deloitte UK at such a pivotal time.
“My focus will be twofold: to ensure we continue delivering exceptional value to our clients, by helping them navigate a period of complexity and seize new opportunities; and to reinvent our firm for the next generation.
“I am committed to ensuring Deloitte remains a place where everyone, regardless of background, can thrive and access the same opportunities for growth and development that have shaped my own career here.”
Deloitte said that, alongside the appointment of its next UK chief executive, it plans to name a new UK chair and board in the coming month, with the changes due to take effect on 1 June 2026.
