Dyer has more than 30 years of experience working on VAT. His career includes positions at several ‘Big Four’ companies, an in-house role with a global hotel group and experience in the public sector at HMRC.
He has advised organisations across a wide range of industries including manufacturing and distribution, professional services, membership bodies, education institutions and public sector entities.
Through his work in the Midlands, Dyer has developed detailed knowledge of the issues confronting local businesses.
His support focused on areas such as compliance, engagement with tax authorities, preparation for supply chain disruption and adapting to data-led reporting requirements.
Dyer said: “Crowe has always had a strong reputation, delivering a high-quality service for clients locally and nationally.
“I am hugely excited to join the partnership and look forward to contributing to the continued growth of Crowe’s corporate presence and offering in the Midlands South West.”
Dyer will be primarily based at Crowe’s office on Colmore Row in central Birmingham, which opened in 2025.
The city centre site was established as part of the company’s wider growth plans and underlines its focus on serving businesses in Birmingham’s commercial district.
Crowe chief executive Nigel Bostock said: “We are pleased to welcome Mark to the partnership, as the business continues to strengthen and grow.
“Specialist VAT and customs support is taking on a far more strategic role, with organisations looking beyond routine compliance to seek insight that helps them respond confidently to evolving regulation.
“Mark’s proven track record will help our clients in a multitude of sectors, in the UK and globally.”
Last month, Crowe UK appointed Bhavin Bharakda as partner in its consulting practice.
