The firm’s specialists focus on technology change around deals. This includes building new IT environments after acquisitions, separating systems in carve-out situations, integrating platforms following mergers and overseeing day-to-day IT operations.
CLA said the move will deepen its digital solutions offering and extend the technology-focused services it can provide to clients undergoing significant transactions.
Answerport founder and CEO John Cordio said: “Technology is often one of the biggest hurdles when companies are bought, sold or combined.
“Joining CLA allows us to work alongside a broader team of financial and business advisors so clients can move through those moments faster and with even greater confidence.”
Answerport will continue to serve private equity clients and portfolio companies while collaborating with CLA professionals across the firm’s national platform.
The accounting firm added that by combining Answerport’s technology expertise with its own capabilities in accounting, tax, consulting and transaction advisory will allow clients to work with a single, integrated team across financial and IT issues.
CLA chief solutions officer James Watson said: “Major business transactions often create complex technology challenges.
“By adding Answerport’s experience and capabilities, we can help our clients manage those transitions more smoothly, from the financial and operational planning all the way through the technology systems that keep their businesses running.”
