BDO USA has named two new national managing principals to lead its assurance and tax practices.
Demetrios Frangiskatos assumed the role of national managing principal of assurance on 1 July 2025.

Mat DeMong was appointed national managing principal of tax on 1 January 2026.
BDO USA CEO Wayne Berson said: “Demetrios and Mat have each showcased the ability to drive growth, deliver client value and cultivate the next generation of leadership.

Frangiskatos joined BDO in 2000 and became a partner, now principal, in 2011.

In the new role, he will be responsible for setting strategy and overseeing teams and client delivery across audit, attest, financial accounting advisory and technology risk.
Most recently, he served as assurance managing partner for BDO’s east region and oversaw the BDOAdvantage team, the company’s assurance digital audit suite.
Earlier in his career, he served as Technology & Media Group industry leader and was a member of the Audit Quality Advisory Council.

DeMong joined BDO in 2004 as a tax associate and became a tax partner, now principal, in 2013.
He later led the Boston tax office as managing partner and was appointed north-east tax regional managing partner in 2019. Since 2023, he has served as east tax managing principal.
DeMong said: “I am grateful for the trust placed in me and am fully committed to our tax vision, which remains centered around a total tax focus and client-centric service delivery.”
Frangiskatos is a member of the executive team and reports to Berson. BDO said that after Matt Becker assumes the role of BDO USA CEO on 1 July 2026, DeMong will join the executive team and report directly to Becker.
