Global advisory, tax, and assurance firm Baker Tilly has hired Barry Melancon as an adviser to its US operations and as the non-executive director and chair-elect of the Baker Tilly International board of directors.
Melancon took on the new responsibilities on 29 January 2025.

He has latterly served as the CEO of the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants (AICPA) for almost 30 years, having played a key role in transforming the association into the largest accounting membership organisation globally.
His tenure as CEO of AICPA witnessed significant advancements in technology and global advocacy, as well as professional education.
As an adviser to the firm, Melancon will offer insights aimed at improving client service, talent strategies, and growth initiatives.
His role on the Baker Tilly International board as its first non-executive director and chair-elect will involve using his international experience to offer guidance, particularly as the profession faces evolving global demands.
