Hess & Rohmer was created in 1999 by Brian Hess and Melody Rohmer, with the company structured around a relationship-centric model of client service.

Hess said: “The alignment in our values, culture and vision was unmistakable.

“It positions us to create meaningful opportunities for our people, our communities and our clients – now and into the future.”

Sorren president Josh Tyree said: “From the beginning, it was clear our firms share a common approach to serving clients and supporting our people.

“Together, we are strengthening our ability to serve Texas businesses with the personal attention of a local firm backed by the reach and resources of a national network.”

Sorren itself was established in 2025 through the coming together of several regional practices, supported by private equity funding.

The Hess & Rohmer move follows an earlier deal in December, when Sorren announced that accounting practice Casey Neilon had become part of its national network.

That agreement increased Sorren’s coverage in the Western region of the US, pairing Casey Neilon’s focus on trusted, long-term client relationships with Sorren’s nationwide resources, technology infrastructure and sector expertise.

At the time of the announcement, Casey Neilon shareholder Darsi Casey said: “Joining Sorren is a meaningful step for our team and our clients.

“We remain committed to the personal, advisory-focused service our clients rely on, while gaining the expanded resources and expertise of a national firm. It is a great fit that positions our clients and our team for even greater success.”
