Abacus Worldwide, an international association of independent accounting, consulting and legal companies, has appointed two new co-chairs to its tax and legal special interest groups (SIGs).
The company named Erika Baldacchino as co-chair of the tax SIG, while Gustav Linge will help in leading the legal SIG.

According to a company statement, Baldacchino of Malta-based member practice WDM International will lead the group alongside Steve Miller of Steven Miller & Associates in Dallas, Texas.
In the legal SIG, Gustav Linge of Swedish member company Advokatfirman Linge will work with Mike Ehrenstein of Miami-based Ehrenstein Sager.
Abacus Worldwide runs four SIGs covering audit, tax, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and legal matters.
These groups meet quarterly, both online and in person, to examine technical issues and their cross-border implications.

“Its goal is to assist member firms in meeting client needs locally and internationally by fostering connections with the right firms in the right locations,” the company added in the statement.
In October last year, Abacus Worldwide strengthened its presence in Africa with the addition of two new members.
Kenyan law firm Munyao, Muthama & Kashindi Advocates, with offices in Nairobi and Mombasa, joined the network.
South Africa’s P&A Accountants, based in Alberton, Gauteng, also become a member. It provides accounting and tax compliance services to businesses of varying sizes.
