The firm recruited 525 trainees in September. This includes school-leaver apprentices, graduates and industrial placement students. More than one-quarter of its employees are now on graduate, apprenticeship or industrial placement programmes.
BDO also said its social mobility and citizenship programmes reached more than 8,200 young people during the year through work experience, insight events and virtual careers initiatives.
BDO People, Culture & Purpose head Louise Sayers said: “The success of our business is built on the expertise, ambition and commitment of our people. These promotions recognise the outstanding contribution each individual has made to our clients, colleagues and communities.
“We believe creating opportunities for success should begin before young people ever enter the workplace. It starts by helping them understand the career paths available to them, gain meaningful experience and build confidence in their future.
“From supporting thousands of students with work experience and career insight opportunities, to developing future partners and business leaders within our firm, we are committed to helping our people succeed, progress and achieve their potential.”
