His background encompasses advising banks, asset managers, wealth management businesses, trading platforms and fintech companies on safeguarding frameworks, client asset rules, Financial Conduct Authority reviews and remediation exercises.

Arora arrives with more than 20 years of experience counselling financial institutions on regulatory compliance, operational resilience, risk management and governance.

Most recently, he led the client assets consulting practice at KPMG.

During his career Arora has guided institutions through shifting regulatory regimes and remediation projects, focusing on embedding oversight and control mechanisms directly into business operations.

Arora said: “I am delighted to be joining HaysMac at such an exciting stage in the firm’s growth.

“Financial Services organisations are balancing rapid innovation with heightened expectations around governance, risk management and consumer protection.

“HaysMac’s combination of technical expertise, entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to building long-term client relationships made it a compelling next step for me.”

The hire marks the latest senior addition to HaysMac’s RAAS unit, forming part of a broader expansion of the company’s advisory capacity.

Last month, HaysMac picked Sandeep Sharma as the new director of its RAAS team.

The hirings also come amid heightened scrutiny of financial institutions regarding regulatory oversight, corporate governance, operational resilience and risk controls, alongside accelerating technological adaptation.

Against this backdrop, HaysMac has been adding specialist staff to assist corporate clients in handling regulatory changes and operational restructuring.

HaysMac Risk Assurance and Advisory Services head Per-Olof Ahlstrom said: “Hanish is one of the most respected advisors in the CASS and regulatory compliance market.

“His experience helping firms address complex governance, regulatory and operational challenges will be invaluable to our clients.

“Hanish’s appointment significantly enhances our capabilities and further strengthens the support we provide to clients across the financial services sector.”
