Grant Thornton UK adds six partners across tax and advisory practices

Grant Thornton UK has appointed six new partners across its tax and advisory businesses.

The recruitment comprises one internal promotion and five external appointments.

The external appointments include hires from EY, Stax and EY-Parthenon.

Steph Baker has been promoted from director to partner in Grant Thornton UK’s Turnaround & Restructuring team in Manchester.

The promotion forms part of the company’s approach of developing internal talent alongside external recruitment.

In August, the company appointed Amanda Askham as a partner in consulting in London and Tyler O’Callaghan as a partner and head of Financial Services Global Tax Compliance and Reporting, also in London.

Peter Renon joined as a partner in Value Creation Advisory in London, while Adam Broughton was appointed partner in Digital Tax in Reading.

Nick Toone also joined as a partner in consulting in London.

The new partners bring experience in public sector transformation, financial services tax compliance, private equity value creation, digital tax technology and restructuring advisory.

The appointments form part of the company’s plan to recruit 160 partners by the end of 2027.

Grant Thornton UK has made 100 equity partner appointments so far this year, increasing its equity partnership to 317 partners.
