The team has since expanded, working with businesses, investors, lenders and public sector organisations involved in acquisitions, financing and investment activity across the UK.
In the 12 months to August 2026, UNW’s Transaction Services team advised on 19 due diligence transactions ranging from $1.3m (£1m) to £30m in value.
It also helped businesses access more than £40m in grant funding across the UK during that period.
The wider 14-person Deal Advisory team has also been strengthened by the appointment of Lewis Govenlock from Johnston Carmichael and the promotion of Ed Booth to manager.
Chris Wilson, partner and head of deal advisory at UNW, explained that Malone had played a key role in establishing the company’s dedicated transaction services offering and building repeat client relationships.
Wilson said: “Danny has established an excellent reputation with clients and developed a high-performing team. His promotion to Partner is thoroughly deserved.”
Malone said the team had focused on providing practical advice and clear insight to clients involved in acquisitions, financing and major capital projects.
He said: “We have worked hard to establish a dedicated transaction services offering in the North East that combines local knowledge with experience of supporting transactions across the UK.”
