He moves to BDO from PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), bringing more than a decade of experience working with alternative investment funds in the financial services sector.

BDO People, Culture & Purpose head Louise Sayers said: “Dean brings a wealth of specialist tax experience to BDO, and I am delighted to welcome him to the BDO partnership team.

“His appointment, and that of Al Milne last month, demonstrates our continued commitment to providing our clients with a vast array of deep technical expertise and exceptional service they have come to expect from us, particularly as they continue to operate in an increasingly complex regulatory environment.”

Earlier this month, BDO’s UK and Ireland operations merged into a single entity, BDO LLP, creating one of Europe’s largest accountancy and advisory businesses.

The merger took effect on 4 July, aligning with the start of the new financial year, and added BDO Ireland’s Dublin and Limerick offices to BDO UK’s 17-site network.

The combined company has annual revenue of nearly £1.1bn ($1.4bn), a workforce of around 8,500 and roughly 500 partners.

BDO LLP is the member company representing the UK and Ireland within the BDO Global network. Globally, the BDO network delivers business advisory services in 169 countries and territories, employing 95,000 people across 870 offices.
