Wbg Tax head Catherine McManus now works alongside corporate tax partner Shehzad Ashaq, recently promoted internally, and indirect tax head Keith Miller, who leads the new VAT-focused offering.

McManus said: “Thanks to the private equity investment by N4 Partners, the majority shareholder of Wbg, we have been able to expand into new markets through tapping into N4’s broader ecosystem and secure significant growth for our tax offering geographically and through the addition of specialist expertise.

“The continued development of the tax team showcases our extended geographical reach with location markers now in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Ayrshire, Lanarkshire, Manchester and Dublin.

“As clients operate across regional, national and international markets, this development and expansion is vital in providing seamless support to clients navigating complex commercial regimes.”

She said Miller’s expertise across land and property, parking, online deals, financial services (including mergers and acquisitions VAT) and cross-border work sets a “new benchmark” for the company.

McManus added: “Keith’s experience in navigating complex VAT and indirect tax issues, alongside his strategic insight, further strengthens our capabilities and enhances the value we deliver to clients.

“And the promotion of Shehzad offers clients further access to combined corporate and personal tax planning with his expertise in advising entrepreneurs and the SME [small and medium-sized enterprise] market.”

The three partners and their expanded teams now advise on a range of specialist tax issues for business owners, larger corporates, groups and private clients.

McManus concluded: “This combination of high-level expertise and targeted growth of our tax offering shows the widened commitment to delivering practical, commercial support tailored to the needs of businesses, whether they be owner operated, large corporates or group entities, and private individuals.

“Further investment in specialist services is planned to support this already solid foundation to enable Wbg to continue to support ambitious clients in competitive markets, wherever they are located, so that businesses and individuals can flourish and focus on their own growth and development plans.”
