His remit includes supporting boards, executive teams and investors in situations where financial, operational and reputational issues overlap.

A&M managing director and European Restructuring head Richard Fleming said: “Tom’s appointment adds momentum to our growing Reputation Advisory capabilities.

“He brings a strong track record advising consumer-facing businesses through complex, often high-pressure situations, where clear, credible communication is critical to preserving value and maintaining control.”

Hufton has 15 years of international experience advising companies, lenders and investors on stakeholder management. His background includes capital markets communications and work across consumer sectors.

He joins A&M from FTI Consulting, where he led restructuring communications and worked with both corporates and lenders.

Commenting on his appointment, Hufton said: “It is a really exciting time to be joining A&M. We are in an environment where clear and decisive communications can have a material impact on business outcomes, preserving economic value for investors, organisations and their people.”

A&M launched its Reputation Advisory practice last month. The company said the unit is designed to help preserve and improve enterprise value during restructuring, disputes, transactions and business transformation.

According to the company, the practice was introduced in response to “growing client demand” for coordinated advice during sensitive periods, when perceptions can influence outcomes for the business and its workforce.
