HW Fisher, the UK accountancy firm within the Sumer group, has appointed Daphne Hemingway to lead its Value Added Tax (VAT) practice.
Hemingway joins from Jerroms Miller Specialist Tax, also part of Sumer. She has around 30 years of experience in indirect tax.

Her background includes VAT litigation and dispute resolution, with previous roles at both Big Four and mid-tier firms such as PWC, Deloitte, EY, Blick Rothenberg and RSM.
She has advised on specialist VAT issues including private education, complex property structures, partial exemption matters and VAT in corporate finance transactions.

Hemingway has also worked with not-for-profit organisations, helping charities and similar bodies manage VAT rules and compliance.
Her sector experience spans property and construction, banking and financial services, technology, and the music, media, sport and entertainment industries.
