HLB International has signed its first member
firm in Zambia. Reliance Chartered Accountants, based in Lusaka,
will be renamed HLB Reliance.

HLB Reliance specialises in audit, tax and
corporate services work for limited companies and non-government
organisations.

The Zambian Government is encouraging an
inflow of foreign investment into the country partly through
private public partnership and tax incentives, which has in turn
increased demand for accounting services.

There is also increased demand for
professional services due to new regulation requiring limited
companies to submit audited financial statements and tax
computation.

“Reliance is joining the HLB network to
develop its positioning on the global stage and to develop
cross-border and larger assignments,” HLB Reliance partner Shuko
Ndhlovu said.

“We feel that it is imperative that we harness
the potential for international work.”
