UHY Hacker Young has appointed two new partners to its London office. Brian Johnson joins UHY Hacker Young after being a partner at accountants HW Fisher for 11 years. Neela Chauhan joins from accountancy firm Wilson Wright after two and a half years as Head of Tax.
Johnson has more than 36 years’ experience of working in business turnaround, restructuring and insolvency. He specializes in advising SMEs and individuals across a wide range of industry sectors including construction, manufacturing, retail and financial services, after starting his career working on large corporate assignments. He also works with lenders such as banks and alternative finance providers to develop and implement business turnaround strategies.
Johnson is an insolvency practitioner licensed by the ICAEW and is also a fellow of R3, the Association of Business Recovery Professionals and the Insolvency Practitioners Association.
Chauhan, a member of the Institute of Taxation, joins UHY Hacker Young, having spent 18 years at Sopher + Co where she headed the Tax division before joining Wilson Wright.
She has a broad range of experience in UK taxation, advising clients on their personal and business affairs, advising High Net Worth clients and non-domiciles, in particular from Asia and Scandinavia. She assists with all aspects of compliance and tax planning relating to income tax, capital gains tax, Inheritance Tax and succession planning.
