Two new independent non-executive directors have joined the ICAEW Board. Mary Hockaday and Malcolm Wood have joined to help ICAEW achieve its strategic objectives.
Mary Hockaday is Controller at BBC World Service English, responsible for the editorial and audience strategy of World Service English radio and audio. She has held a number of other senior editorial and leadership positions within the BBC and is also a Trustee of the Girls’ Day School Trust.
Malcolm Wood is Group Company Secretary at Lloyds Banking Group, and will be retiring at the end of June. He is an experienced legal and governance professional who has operated for the past 18 years at the highest levels of the UK financial aervices industry. He was previously General Counsel and Company Secretary of Standard Life after a career as a corporate lawyer in private practice in London and Edinburgh. Wood is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators and a Member of the Corporate Governance Council and the GC100.
Their terms on the Board will last from 4 June 2019 to 1 June 2021. The Search for the two independent Board Members was conducted by Fidelio Partners, which has been accredited by the Hampton-Alexander Review for its contribution to increasing gender balance in Boards beyond the FTSE 350.
