Simon Collins is to take over as KPMG UK
chairman and senior partner from John Griffith-Jones in
October.
Collins is the global head of KPMG’s
transactions and restructuring practice and has been with the Big
Four firm since 1998.
Collins is a member of KPMG Europe executive
board, KPMG’s global advisory executive board and the KPMG India
oversight board.
Griffith-Jones, who will retire from his post,
said Collins received a clear mandate from the partnership.
“Simon has already proven himself to be a fine
partner and leader, greatly respected by his peers, clients and
industry alike. At a time of regulatory uncertainty for our
profession, I am certain that Simon will provide the strong and
clear leadership needed in order to move the firm forward into the
future,” Griffith-Jones said.
KPMG UK reported 7% growth in the past fiscal
year to £1.7bn ($2.6bn) in the year to 30 September 2011. It is the
third largest firm in the UK.
