IGAF Worldwide has admitted a new member firm
in the US. Howard, Wershbale & Co is based in
Cleveland, Ohio, and has 16 principals and 73 employees. The firm
provides accounting, auditing, tax, valuation and litigation, and
management consulting services.

• Joseph Berardino has joined global professional services firm
Alvarez & Marsal as a managing director of
corporate development. Berardino previously worked as an audit
partner at Arthur Andersen, where he served for 30 years in various
client serving and leadership roles, including chief executive of
Andersen Worldwide.

Stefanelli & Asociados, based in Puerto
Ordaz near Bolivar, has become the fourth Venezuelan firm to join
Kreston International this year. The association
has also welcomed Costa Rican firm KB Sociedad
Anónima
. The San José-based firm has three partners and 40
staff and provides audit, tax and accounting services. The firm is
Kreston’s first member in Costa Rica.

Deloitte US has formed a strategic alliance
with software solutions company Sterling Commerce aimed at helping
companies improve their multichannel e-commerce selling and
fulfilment processes. Deloitte will provide process, strategy and
technology-related consulting capabilities focussed on key
industries while Sterling Commerce will provide for managed file
transfer and business-to-business connectivity and
collaboration.

• US accounting, tax and business advisory services firm
Reznick Group has appointed six principles. Bonnie
Ely has been appointed to provide audit services for investment tax
credit funds, the affordable housing industry, pension plans and
not-for-profit organisations. Jeffrey Cunningham will specialise in
audit and consulting services to real estate clients and
Christopher Mahon joins the audit team and will focus on
publicly-traded and closely-held companies in the software,
information technology, hospitality, government contracting and
distribution industries.

Matthew Stille is to work across audit, accounting, tax, cost
certification and other services and Scott Szeliga has been
appointed to the firm’s audit and assurance practice for new
markets tax credit clients. Christopher Reinholz becomes a
principle in Reznick’s valuation and transaction advisory group,
performing valuation and transaction advisory services for clients
involved in technology, life sciences, manufacturing, government
contracting and real estate.

• Ralph Fatigate has joined BDO Consulting, a division of US
firm BDO Seidman, as the managing director of its
mortgage lending investigative unit. Fatigate previously worked as
the director of investigations at the New York State Banking
Department.
