PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) US has appointed
Martyn Curragh to lead its transaction services team, taking over
from John McCaffrey.

Curragh will lead a team of more than 1,000
professionals in advising clients on accounting and financial
reporting, valuation, M&A strategy and integration, capital
raising, and restructuring and divestiture options. The team will
also provide due diligence for M&A.

Curragh has worked for PwC for 20 years in
both the UK and US and has been part of the US transaction services
group in New York since 1998. He has been involved in a number of
transactions across a diverse range of industry sectors including
media and publishing, consumer products and retail,
pharmaceuticals, and aerospace and defence contracting.

Commenting on his appointment, Curragh said
the M&A market appears to be stabilising as financing markets
have improved, deal flow has increased and financial buyers have
become more aggressive.

“I am very optimistic about our ability to
grow our business in this environment, as we seek to capitalise on
these positive fundamentals through further investing in deepening
our sector skills and expanding the spectrum of deal services that
can add value for our clients,” Curragh said.
