PwC to expand workforce in Northern Ireland

PwC Northern Ireland is creating 247 high paying jobs as part of a major expansion plan in Belfast.

The firm will also invest in developing three centres of excellence, including a Technology Centre of Excellence, a Capability and Training Centre of Excellence and an International Survey Unit.

Invest Northern Ireland has offered £1.7m ($2.6m) of support to secure the project.

“The new jobs being created by PwC all offer salaries significantly higher than average and will boost the local economy by generating more than £8m a year in additional salaries by 2014,” Northern Ireland’s enterprise minister Arlene Foster said.

PwC in Northern Ireland is part of PwC UK, employing about 800 people across offices in Belfast, Dungannon and Omagh.
