Alain Pons has been elected as the next
chairman of Deloitte France. His three-year term begins on 1 June.
Pons succeeds Jean-Paul Picard, whose second term expires on 31
May.

Pons joined Deloitte France in 1980 and became
partner in 1988. He led the audit group serving the firm’s largest
multinational clients from 1998 to 2000, at which time he became
managing partner of the national audit practice.

Pons has also served as vice-chairman of the
Deloitte France board from 1992 to 2000. Since 2004, he has
been the deputy chief executive of the firm.

Pons was also a member of the Deloitte Global
board from 2004 to 2007 and has been a member of the global
executive since 2007, when he became global managing partner for
audit and enterprise risk services.

In addition to his management roles, Pons
continues to provide services to large clients.
