Strategy Indian firm joins PKF International

Sridhar and Santhanam (S&S) has been appointed PKF International’s exclusive member firm in India. S&S has offices in Chennai, Mumbai, Bangalore and New Delhi. PKF executive director Eric Tait said: “With 35 partners and 350 staff, S&S has a wealth of international experience already with many international clients. The firm is a natural fit with the rest of the PKF network and is set to achieve significant growth.” PKF was left without a member firm in India when RSM & Co (a firm that is unrelated to RSM International) merged with PricewaterhouseCoopers India.

 

People Vantis expands tax team   UK consolidator Vantis has recruited Chris Maddock to expand the expertise within its specialist tax team. Maddock joins the HLB International member firm from BDO Stoy Hayward, where he was a tax partner. The role involves supporting the company’s new private banking services. Vantis tax executive chairman Roy Faichney commented: “Chris has a wealth of experience and proven success in the high net worth private client sector.”

Corporate Social Responsibility Deloitte Canada makes an impact

Deloitte Canada has held its annual day of volunteer service, with almost 80 percent of its staff working on 505 projects with 343 community organisations. As part of the so-called Impact Day, Deloitte professionals work on projects to support the development of the communities in which they work and live. Deloitte partner Judith Bellehumeur said: “Helping others and making an impact is important to all of us.”

People A&M appoints restructuring expert

Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) has recruited James McDermott as a managing director in the firm’s North America restructuring practice. McDermott is the former managing director of The Eagle Rock Group, a business advisory firm he co-founded. A&M said he has significant experience in financial restructuring, crisis management and capital markets transactions. A&M head of the New York turnaround and restructuring practice Joe Bondi commented: “Jim has an outstanding background, having served in interim management and advisory capacities in numerous complex turnaround situations, particularly in the financial services sector.”
