PEOPLE PwC UK unveils managing partner PricewaterhouseCoopers UK has appointed Richard Collier-Keywood as managing partner. Collier-Keywood is the firm’s head of tax and a member of the current management board. He said: “The firm is in great shape and we have a fantastic opportunity to build on our achievements. I am looking forward to working with [chairman and senior partner elect Ian Powell] to play my part in ensuring we deliver consistently outstanding service to our clients through attracting and retaining the best people.”

PEOPLE E&Y strengthens restructuring Ernst & Young (E&Y) UK has recruited a new restructuring partner to increase its presence in the European market. David Hargrave joins to primarily advise lenders in syndicated or complex restructuring situations. He previously worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers UK for more than 20 years. E&Y global head of restructuring Alan Bloom said: “I am delighted David has joined our team of restructuring professionals. His appointment shows our dedication to increasing our European presence. He brings with him a strong market network and restructuring experience spanning the past two decades.”

STRATEGY Deloitte expands in Romania Deloitte Romania has opened a regional office in Cluj-Napoca that will serve the private and public sectors in the region. The Big Four firm said that over the past few years Cluj County, a region in which Cluj-Napoca is capital, has gained a reputation for being home to lucrative investment opportunities. This growth is expected to continue and has already been matched by increased demand for professional services, the firm said. The Cluj-Napoca office currently employs three people and by autumn Deloitte hopes to expand the team to 20 audit and tax professionals.

MERGERS AND ACQUISITIONS Nexia adds Central American firm

Nexia Auditores y Consultores, a firm based in Honduras, has joined Nexia International. The firm has three partners and has been in the industry for 27 years; with a staff of 29 professionals and offices in the two main cities Tegucigalpa and San Pedro Sula. The firm provides audit, tax, consulting and full business process outsourcing services.
