KPMG’s UK performance and technology advisory
division (P&T) has acquired the business intelligence and
enterprise performance consultancy firm Analitica.

Analitica specialises in Hyperion Planning,
which is Microsoft Excel and web-based planning, budgeting and
forecasting software.

KPMG UK head of business intelligence Herman
Heyns said the acquisition marks another significant step in the
expansion of the firm’s business intelligence capability. “Hyperion
Planning and other business intelligence systems are playing an
increasingly important part in the operation of many large
organisations as they chart a path through the [economic] upturn
and KPMG aims to capitalise on this growth,” Heyns said.

KPMG UK P&T leader Scott Parker said the
firm’s P&T division is focused on significant growth and has
expanded to more than 1,000 people in the past five years.

The International Accounting Bulletin
believes Analitica will add between 10 and 20 staff to KPMG.
