KPMG US has named Scott Ozanus as vice chair
of tax, in one of a series of senior appointments in its tax and
audit teams.

Ozanus succeeds Shaun Kelly and as a new
member of KPMG’s management committee will direct a team of 4,000
tax partners and professionals.

Kelly will remain on the firm’s management
committee as vice chair of operations.

Ozanus has 28 years of public accounting
experience and extensive experience in areas including
divestitures, restructurings and public offerings.

He was formally KPMG west region managing tax
partner, based in Dallas.

Ozanus will be joined in KPMG’s tax leadership
team by Jeffrey LeSage, who has been appointed KPMG US national
managing partner of tax.

LeSage, who succeeds Frederick Smith, joined
KPMG in 1986 and became a partner in 1992.

He was most recently KPMG’s east region
managing partner of tax.

“As the new national managing partner for tax,
Jeff LeSage will team with Scott Ozanus to lead tax, bringing
global tax experience, industry insight and outstanding client
service skills to this important role,” KPMG chief executive John
Veihmeyer said.


Audit appointments

James Liddy has been appointed KPMG US vice
chair of audit.

Liddy succeeds Henry Keizer and as a new
member of the firm’s management committee will lead 8,000 audit
partners and professionals.

Liddy’s previous role was KPMG national
managing partner of audit.

He joined KPMG in 1981 and became a partner in

Thomas Duffy succeeds Liddy as KPMG national
managing partner of audit and will team with him to lead KPMG’s
audit practice.

Duffy’s previous responsibility includes being
KPMG partner in charger of audit practice in New Jersey.

He joined KPMG in 2002 as a partner in the New
Jersey office.
