The Hong Kong graft watchdog has charged KPMG
Hong Kong senior manager Leung Sze-chit on account of
corruption.

The Independent Commission Against Corruption
(ICAC) said Leung was charged with offering a HK$100,000 Hong Kong
dollar bribe to a subordinate in connection with fabric firm Hontex
International Holdings’ IPO.

The ICAC added that Leung and another unnamed
person gave money to an employee on 20 February as a “reward” for
writing up a misleading accountant’s report that appeared in
Hontex’s IPO prospectus.

The defendant has been released on bail,
pending his court appearance, which was scheduled for Friday 9
April.
