The Financial Times (FT) reports that KPMG is being fined £5m in regard to misconduct in work for custodian bank BNY Mellon.

The newspaper says the fine has been ‘awarded by an independent disciplinary tribunal and is due to be announced this week’. The size of the fine is likely to disappoint the Financial Reporting Council which had been pressing for a record £12.5m penalty.
