KPMG Canada has acquired Valani Consulting growing its life
actuarial practice to the biggest of the Big Four, according to the
firm.
Toronto based, Valani Consulting, has 14 actuarial professionals
who combine industry insight, technical know-how, and client
service. The Valani Consulting team will relocate to KPMG’s Bay
Adelaide Centre offices, also in Toronto
Valani also provides knowledgeable support and
its clients include major international insurance and financial
services companies.
KPMG Canada clients and markets managing
partner Rob Brouwer said the Valani team brings actuarial
capabilities that are crucial in delivering services to KPMG’s
global clients.
“The changing economic climate has brought about significant
regulatory reforms affecting life insurers and accounting practices
that will alter actuarial liabilities,” Brouwer said.
Valani Consulting founder Nazir Valani, who has become KPMG life
actuarial practice leader and partner, said he considered the Big
Four firm a “preferred partner that will best serve its global
clients and provide the best opportunities for its team”.
