KPMG remains the auditor of the most companies
listed on UK capital markets, according to the latest Hemscott
quarterly rankings.

KPMG added two extra listed audit clients in
the three months to 4 May, ending with 391.

PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) also gained two
clients to finish the quarter with 332, leapfrogging Deloitte,
which was down eight to 326.

Ernst & Young (E&Y) dropped four
clients to 286 and Grant Thornton lost one client to 271.

There were no changes to the auditor rankings
within the FTSE 100. PwC was up one to 41, KPMG remained steady on
24, Deloitte dropped one to 20 and E&Y was steady on 17. BDO
has one FTSE 100 client.

Deloitte edged past PwC to become auditor of
the most FTSE 250 companies with 67. PwC dropped four to finish
with 66, KPMG was up three to 56, E&Y down two to 47 and BDO
was steady on six.

All of the top four auditors of AIM companies
lost clients, but the order remained the same. Grant Thornton has
186 AIM clients, followed by KPMG (152), BDO (127) and Deloitte
(110).
