KPMG UK has appointed David Dickinson as head of people strategy
for its retail distribution review (RDR) practice.

Dickinson was previously a project manager at the UK Financial
Services Authority (FSA).

At the FSA, Dickinson was responsible for the design and
implementation of a technical competency framework and worked on
people strategies with banks, insurers and mutuals.

Dickinson will mainly be working with KPMG’s independent
financial adviser (IFA) clients and banking clients.

The RDR was created by the FSA in 2006 to help enhance consumer
confidence in the retail investment market.

It supports education of consumers about different types of
services available, improved professional standards in the
industry, and clear, fair practices in remuneration for financial
advice

According to KPMG, full implementation is likely to be complete
by 2013.
