Joachim Schindler has been appointed global
head of audit for KPMG International.

Schindler succeeds Henry Keizer, who has been
named deputy chairman and chief operating officer of KPMG US and
deputy chairman of KPMG Americas.

Schindler will continue in his current role as
head of audit for KPMG Europe. He will also become a member of the
global executive team as he takes on the new role.

Schindler has been with KPMG for more then 20
years and has had several leadership roles, including head of audit
in Germany and audit leader for KPMG Europe, Middle East and
Africa.

Schindler said that under Keizer’s leadership
an important audit management tool eAudIT was launched.

“eAudIT tool helps clients address regulatory
and other challenges throughout the world,” Shindler explained.

Schindler said his own plans as audit head
include looking into expanding the role of audit to areas beyond
financial data such as sustainability reporting.
