The leading accounting firms, networks and
associations have been placed into shortlists for the inaugural
International Accounting Bulletin Awards.
This year’s IAB awards, sponsored by global
insurance broker Aon, attracted more than 100 nominations from all
parts of the world.
A judging panel, comprised of former BDO
global chief executive Jeremy Newman, ACCA technical director Sue
Almond and London City lawyer Jane Howard, whittled down the
nomination lists over two rounds of judging.
The most popular categories were Network and
Association of the Year, resulting in shortlists of five candidates
for each award. Other strong categories included Employer of the
Year and Young Accountant of the Year.
Two of the awards categories – International
Accounting Bulletin Personality of the Year and International
Accounting Bulletin Lifetime Achievement Award – were determined by
the IAB editorial team outside of the judging process.
“Some of the categories, such as employer of
the year, could easily have had four winners,” International
Accounting Bulletin editor Arvind Hickman said.
“We are delighted and pleased at the strength
of each category and the support these industry awards have
received all over the world.
“There were one or two categories where
consensus was hard to reach but I am confident the eventual winners
are the right choices and we look forward to the awards reception
on 8 March.”
Registrations to attend the International
Accounting Bulletin Awards are now open. As spaces are limited,
registration does not guarantee attendance. All invited guests will
be confirmed by the International Accounting Bulletin team prior to
the event.
The International Accounting Bulletin Awards
takes place at John Carpenter House, London, from 6pm on 8 March
2012.
