Horwath Clark Whitehill adopts Crowe name

Horwath Clark Whitehill has adopted the Crowe Horwath International brand, becoming Crowe Clark Whitehill.

The firm said the revision reflects the prominence of its position within Crowe Horwath International.

The international network changed its name last year, combining the former Horwath International brand with the network’s US firm and largest member, Crowe Horwath, which previously operated as Crowe Chizek.

However, unlike many of the networks other members, the firm decided to drop Horwath in its name.

Crowe Clark Whitehill explained this is because of the history associated with Clark Whitehill in the UK.

As part of a wider growth strategy Crowe Clark Whitehill now plans to expand its client service offering and strengthen its office network nationwide.

The firm currently has 72 partners and about 500 staff across eight offices in the UK and reported revenues of £57m ($90m) in the year to 31 March 2009.

International Accounting Bulletin ranked Crowe Clark Whitehill as the UK’s twelfth-largest accountancy firm in its most recent UK survey report.
