Grant Thornton UK has appointed Scott Barnes
for a second term as chief executive.

Barnes was first appointed for this role in
2008 and focused on the restructure of the firm during this
period’s downturn.

Grant Thornton is the fifth largest firm in
the UK, reporting annual revenue of £377m in the year to 30 June
2011. This follows two years of revenue contractions largely
attributed to the global financial crisis.

Grant Thornton aims to grow annual revenue to
£500m by 2015.

“Dynamic organisations are Grant Thornton’s
core focus and the richest seam is in the large private and smaller
listed market, where we are already strong,” Barnes said.
