Grant Thornton SA appoints new chairman

Grant Thornton South Africa has appointed Deepak Nagar as national chairman. Nagar will replace Leonard Brehm.

The chairman begins his role in March and has been with Grant Thornton South Africa for 18 years. He will remain the managing partner of Grant Thornton’s Durban office and was previously the chairman of the Independent Regulatory Board for Auditors.

“I will most certainly continue driving Grant Thornton South Africa vision to double revenue by 2015, further progressing the firm’s aggressive growth strategy in the years ahead through mergers and acquisitions and via organic growth,” Nagar said.

Grant Thornton South Africa has 824 staff and annual revenue of ZAR412.2m ($50.7m).
