Grant Thornton Netherlands has merged with
audit and tax firm ESJ. The merger will increase Grant Thornton’s
headcount in the Netherlands to 700 staff.

ESJ adds 20 new partners and about 175
staff. The firm has six offices in south west Netherlands.

ESJ, which formed 30 years ago, left IAPA International to
join Grant Thornton.

Grant Thornton Netherlands chief executive
Gerard Mulder said the merger expands the reach of the firm.

“It also helps us to tie in with the
considerable growth ambitions of the global organisation and
strengthens our position in the war for talent, a major
constraint in the Netherlands market,” he said.

Grant Thornton Netherlands was ranked as the
ninth largest network in the country with revenues of €52m for year
ended 31 December 2010, according to the latest International
Accounting Bulletin
Netherlands survey.
