Grant Thornton Canada will merge with Edmonton
based accounting and advisory firm Stout & Co, effective from 1
October.
The merger will add 12 professional and support staff, while
founding partner Jim Stout will be joining Grant Thornton as
partner.
Grant Thornton executive partner and chief executive Phil Noble
said Northern Alberta is an important market for the firm and the
merger signals its commitment to “bolster our leadership position
in the Canadian marketplace.”
In 2010, the Canadian firm merged with two
other accounting firms in the region Watson Aberant based in
Edmonton and Alger & Associates based in Alberta.
