Ernst & Young (E&Y) has opened a new
office in Papua New Guinea.

The office, which will be led by the country
managing partner Frank Bouraga and founding partner Madhu Nair,
will work closely with the Australian E&Y firm, particularly
its Brisbane office.

The Papua New Guinea office will initially
focus on supporting the growing resources and energy sector.

E&Y Oceania chief executive and managing
partner Rob McLeod said the opening the office in the country is
part of the networks Asia-Pacific strategy and “marks another step
in our journey of providing local and global services for our
clients.”

“The Papua New Guinea economy has seen strong
growth in recent years and that is driving increasing client demand
and opportunity for high-quality professional services,” McLeod
noted.
