Ernst & Young (E&Y) has appointed Ajen
Sita as Africa chief executive. He succeeds Philip Hourquebie.

Sita, who is the head of assurance at E&Y
Africa, joined the firm in 1993 focusing on entrepreneurial growth
companies. He became a partner in 1999 and was appointed head of
the entrepreneurial services division in 2001.

Sita is the E&Y’s South African head of
audit and chairman of the South Africa’s Thuthuka Education
Upliftment Fund.

“For our people, diversity of experiences
remains a priority, and our integration has provided us with many
career opportunities through mobility across Africa… This
appointment comes at an extremely exciting time for Ernst &
Young and the African continent,” Sita said.

“As the world takes stronger interest in the
potential that our continent has to offer, our firm and clients are
already benefiting from our new way of operating following our
commitment two years ago to integrate all of our practices in
Africa into a single business.”
