Ernst &Young (E&Y) US has acquired financial advisory
firm Jeffrey A Parker & Associates (JPA) to reinforce the
firm’s transaction advisory practice.
The firm said the acquisition of JAP, which specialises in the US
infrastructure sector, is intended to enhance the infrastructure
advisory business at the US firm as the market demand for this type
of service has grown.

JPA, which will now be known as E&Y
Infrastructure Advisors (E&Y IA), said it currently has more
than $15bn in infrastructure projects under advisory, the majority
of them in the transportation sector.

As a result of the acquisition, the entire JPA
team will join E&Y IA. Jeff Parker, president of JPA, will
serve as senior managing director while Mike Parker, a managing
director of JPA, will lead E&Y IA.

E&Y head of transaction advisory services
Rich Jeanneret said the financing and development of infrastructure
is becoming critical to the US economy and national
competitiveness.
