Ernst & Young
(E&Y) US has appointed David Nichols as Americas CIO services
leader in its advisory practice.

In his new role,
Nichols, who will be based in the firm’s Chicago office, will work
with clients to improve the performance and flexibility of their
technology and strategy practices.

Nichols brings more than
20 years of technical and business experience in enterprise
application integration technologies and enterprise resource
planning.

According to E&Y
advisory markets leader Chell Smith, although Nichols will be
focused on the Americas, he will align closely with the firms
global chief technology officer, Mal Postings, to offer clients
advice on how they can apply new technologies like mobile and cloud
computing to enhance their business performance.

Nichols previously
worked for global management consulting, technology services and
outsourcing company, Accenture as global managing partner for the
service oriented architecture practice.

“The on-going challenge
for today’s chief information officers is to align their
organisations’ technologies more tightly to their businesses while
they drive increasing levels of performance efficiency and
effectiveness. Under David’s proven leadership, we will bring
deep experience and broad and innovative thinking to our clients,”
E&Y Americas IT advisory leader Bob Sydow said.
