DFK expands global footprint

DFK International has recently added eight member firms and elected Mexican Santiago Pacheco to represent the Americas constituency on the association’s board of directors.

Singaporean firm JK Medora & Company and Thai firm ASV & Associates Limited are new Asian members. JK Medora & Co is a sole proprietorship practice operated by Jamshid Medora. It has a 10 staff and provides audit, tax, advisory and secretarial services.

ASV & Associates is a two-partner firm in Bangkok. The firm has 35 staff and specialises in audit, tax, legal, corporate finance, consulting and payroll services. ASV & Associates is the first Thai member firm of DFK International.

There are two new members in Sweden – Andersson & Company in Växjö and Andersson & Company in Karlshamn. Both specialise in audit, accounting and advisory services to SMEs and owner-managed businesses.

The DFK Canada group recruited Hergott Duval Stack, a firm with over 75 professional staff, including 16 partners, that provides services including business valuations, management consulting, information technology support and litigation support to a diverse group of clients.

Meanwhile, DFK Australia/New Zealand added DFK Port Accounting from Fremantle and Gooding Pervan from Perth, strengthening its coverage in Western Australia. Lonsdale, a firm in Melbourne, Victoria, has also joined the group. These firms add 58 professionals to DFK Australia/New Zealand.

“We developed a new strategic plan last year and one of the planks of the strategic plan was recognition that the development of the association is best done through national groups,” DFK International executive director Kevin Arnold told the International Accounting Bulletin.

“Satisfyingly, the majority of new members acquired throughout the year have been additions to budding national groups.”

In the year to July 2009, DFK International added 12 firms. Arnold said the association is still seeking new members in the former Soviet states and the Baltic region.
