Deloitte US has elected Joseph Echevarria as
the firm’s chief executive and Punit Renjen as chairman of the
board.
Echevarria succeeds Barry Salzberg and Renjen
succeeds Sharon Allen
Echevarria joined Deloitte in1987 and has been
the firm’s managing partner and chief operating officer since
2007.
Echevarria said that Deloitte has to recognise
its role in maintaining the integrity of the capital markets and
the reliance placed on audited financial statements.
“The highest standard of professionalism and
quality in this area is one of my top priorities,” Echevarria
said.
Renjen, who will take over as chairman of the
board, was the firm’s consulting leader and has more than 23 years
of experience in consulting services.
Renjen said he is committed to leading the
board in providing “valuable oversight and strategic guidance to
management” while promoting the firm’s culture to external
stakeholders.
