Deloitte US has appointed Gregory
Weaver as the firms chairman and chief executive for its
accounting, auditing and advisory service line.
Weaver succeeds Stephen Van Arsdell, who has
held the position since 2010, with immediate effect.
Deloitte US said Weaver has more than 38 years
experience and has been a partner at Deloitte for the past 27
years.
Weaver has already held the position as
chairman and chief executive from 2001 to 2005.
Deloitte US chief executive Joseph Echevarria
said Weaver was a natural choice for leading the audit and advisory
subsidiary.
“His prior experience in this position, in
particular, gives him a deep understanding of the most critical
aspects of its business and the unique role of the auditor in
building trust and protecting the investing public and capital
markets,” Echevarria said.
