Deloitte has overtaken PwC as leader in serving FTSE 250 clients, according to the Morningstar Professional Services Rankings Guide.
Deloitte has gained three clients up to 69, while PwC remains stable at 67 but moves down in the ranking to second place.
As for small cap/fledgling clients, KPMG has gained ground to join PwC in the top spot. KPMG and PwC now have both got 92 small cap clients, followed by Ernst & Young (69), which has overtaken Deloitte after the latter lost three clients falling to 65 in the second quarter of 2012.
In the AIM listed clients’ ranking, Grant Thornton UK (172) retains its leadership position in spite of loosing clients, while BDO (132) slips down the ranking to third place leaving KPMG (136) alone in the previously-shared second position. RSM Tenon (15) gains ground going up from 15th to 14th position.
The latest rankings have highlighted a trend of firms losing an average of 15 clients in the past four years.
