Deloitte has elected David Sproul as the
firm’s new chief executive and senior partner.
Sproul will take over from John Connolly in
June 2011.
Sproul is the managing director of Deloitte’s
tax practice in the UK and Europe. He is also a member of the
firm’s executive board.
Connolly said partners unanimously elected
Sproul, providing him with a clear mandate to continue building the
firm.
“I am delighted to be elected by my fellow
partners to lead our firm. It is a privilege to become CEO of
Deloitte and a responsibility that I take on with enormous pride,”
Sproul said.
Sproul joined Deloitte in 2001 following the
firm’s integration with Andersen. He has held several leading
positions such as managing partner of talent and managing partner
of consulting and advisory services before heading tax in 2006.
